Have you recently decided that you would like to undergo cosmetic surgery? Whether you are looking to get a tummy tuck, a facelift, or a breast reduction, have you already made your appointment? If this is a step that you have yet to take, you may first want to reexamine your decision. Cosmetic surgery is a big step. Before you move forward, it is important that you examine the pros and cons of going under the knife.
One of the many reasons why cosmetic surgery is so popular is because it has a number of pros or plus sides. For starters, cosmetic surgery can help to improve your appearance. Cosmetic surgery is different than reconstructive surgery and many other lifesaving surgeries, because it is optional. Those who undergo cosmetic surgery are usually just looking to improve their appearance. As nice as it is to look attractive, it is also important to note that you will likely see an improvement in your self-confidence, as well as your self-esteem.
As previously stated, most individuals undergo cosmetic surgery to improve their physical appearance. While this is true, some other individuals do so for their health. Are you overweight or even obese? If you are, cosmetic surgery may actually help to save your life or at least reduce your risk of other health complications, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Those who are obese are urged to examine the Lapband surgery and gastric bypass surgery. Those who are slightly overweight, but not yet obese, are urged to examine liposuction.
Another pro or plus side to undergoing cosmetic surgery is that it is a convenient option. Yes, you must go into the doctor’s office, your procedure may take a few hours, and you may need a few days to recover, but the results are still pretty quick and convenient. For example, if you were looking to remove the excess fat from your arms and thighs, you could spend months or even a year trying to lose the weight through exercise. On the other hand, liposuction will give you the results you wanted, but right away.
Despite the fact that there are a number of pros or plus sides to undergoing cosmetic surgery, it is also important to examine the cons or downsides of it as well. For starters, cosmetic surgery can be costly. The cost will depend on the procedure. A full surgical facelift will cost more money than simply just having a mole removed or the treatment of a stretch mark. Unfortunately, not all health insurance providers cover the cost of cosmetic procedures. In fact, most don’t. This means that you will likely be responsible for paying the full cost of your surgery.
Another con or downside to undergoing cosmetic surgery is the risks and dangers that are involved. Side effects, which most often include slight pain and discomfort, are common with most surgical procedures. All surgical procedures, no matter what they are, do have risks. There are no guarantees that you will get the results that you were looking for.
Finally, it is important to examine the recovery process. For many patients, this can be the hardest part. Liposuction was sited as an example above. This surgical procedure is one that has the strictest rules in the recovery process. In addition to letting your body heal, you also need to start eating healthy and exercising. Do you think that you can do so? If not, cosmetic surgery may not be right for you.
As you can see, there are both a number of pros and cons to undergoing cosmetic surgery. Before you decide to move forward, be sure to thoroughly examine these pros and cons. If you have any additional questions, contact your local cosmetic surgeon or surgical center. In fact, you are urged to first schedule a consultation appointment. Information provided by an experienced cosmetic surgeon can help you reaffirm your decision to go under the knife.

The job of home renovation is referred to as the process of making vital changes to your home, in order to do either preventive maintenance work or to make it more beautiful, comfortable and more valuable.
It is also done to upgrade your home from an investment viewpoint, so that your home’s market value goes up. You could either wish to do a major overhaul of your home, or you could do some smaller alterations of some areas. In addition, you could also make changes to both the exterior and interior of your home or either of the two.
Minor Renovations Could Be A Do-It Yourself Thing
For those who are to embark on some work of a minor nature, you may plan it out and probably do it yourself, as any home improvement shop can supply the required materials and the do-it-yourself instructions. However, if the renovation involves a major overhaul, it would be advisable to take the help of professional design consultants and to assign the execution work to a contractor.
The Web IS A Good Venue For Finding Good Contractors
These days, the easiest place to look for home renovation experts and contractors, is the Internet, as you can easily contact them and get their quotes, opinions and other valuable input.
In addition, you may also either engage a general contractor who would supervise the whole task on a regular basis, or you could also go in for specialized individual contractors for specific types of work ranging from flooring, roofing, plumbing and painting. The general contractor would take responsibility for the complete scope of the home renovation work from designing to execution and even clearing the debris when the work is over.
Careful Planning And Implementation Ensures A Successful Home Renovation
The range of renovation work is quite vast and dizzying one sometimes, as it includes a lot of aspects which include floor improvement, wall makeover, roof replacement, maintenance or improvement of ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems, providing water proofing for basements, providing energy saving devices for reducing utility bills, providing improved safety measures, and decorating the home and its exteriors. Careful planning and implementation will surely help in achieving the type of home renovation that you need.
Home Renovation Tips To Protect Your Budgets
In order to save you from getting a heart attack over increased costs and overruns, it helps to first plan and estimate your costs before starting one. Estimate the length of time that your or project will take to complete.
When computing costs, always round up and add at least 25 percent to home renovation cost estimates and 30 percent to the timeline. In addition, do not plan anything major when your home is in a total mess, such as a dinner party with your new boss. As an extra helpful tip, also plan for the unexpected. For example, arrange to stay with friends if something major goes wrong.
Staying in a home that looks like a construction site may be extremely stressful what with all the dust, debris, and intermittently working amenities, and this could be doubly worse if you have kids. If it is a long-term project, arrange to go someplace relaxing on the weekend.
To sum it all up, the most important home renovation advice for keeping your sanity is to simply maintain a jolly outlook. As no major home improvement project can be perfect, expect some hitches, missing parts, breakages, delays, and absent workers. Breaking up in tears and throwing a tantrum may make you feel a little better for the moment, however it won’t look good for your relationship with your workers.

Miami is not the high-growth market it was only a few short years ago. Rapid over-investment, increasing insurance premiums, natural disasters, and scores of other variables are now driving prices down. If you are currently involved in the Miami market, or are looking for great opportunities within it, quality information from resources like Florida Real Estate Watch are invaluable. Be aware that the sudden drop of it was caused not only by over-investment but also the status of the market that we have right now. Looking back it is known that the market has some faults on letting this happen. But furthermore it is also evident that Miami real estate has lost its touch over the past few investments on known markets.
With the sudden resurgence of the market on a small scale it is safe to say that I could improve over time. But for how much? Let it be known that it won’t last long. There is a cycle that the market has been following from time to time. Is it wise to invest on the market now? Well the best thing to do right now is to wait and see on how it will pan out. Let me just say that the future is pretty much wide open. It is on the big space where no one knows in particular. Checking on what can give to the market is a big guessing game. Known to be a good thing to it is that the market for the future is a big blank for now. It is a good notion as well that the real estate market has been going to a rough grind but we can understand why.
Soon the Miami real estate market’s growth will be based solely on the market’s movement for the coming years to come. Don’t be surprised if it’ll be on a much higher slope. The control on it is all on the investors that will make significant movement for the market. Looking into the real estate front is now hard to see, it seems like most of the people are taking aim at it. It’ll be best for the market to have a closer look on its development, let it be known that real estate is always on a greater side of the table. We don’t have to judge it early because for sure it’ll have progress. Miami real estate can be the market it once was.

For a list of frequently asked questions about cosmetic procedures in Manhattan, facelift policies and more, keep reading.
What is the purpose of a facelift?
A facelift is a specific procedure developed to target the areas around the nasal region, jaw line and cheeks. It’s favored by patients who are living with drooping skin, jowls, facial creases and sagging facial features.
By making an incision along the temple line, a facelift seeks to pull back the facial skin, cut out excess skin and make the patient look younger. Typically, the number of wrinkles are reduced along with the aging appearance of non-elasticized skin.
How much is a facelift?
In Manhattan, facelift or rhytidectomy operations will cost a patient an average of $7000 to $15000. Those fees include surgeon fees, taxes, hospital fees and anesthesia. Patients are advised to look for a practitioner who is experienced and skilled, rather than inexpensive.
What is the pre-surgery preparation for a rhytidectomy?
According to the Plastic Surgeon’s Practice of Manhattan, facelift patients must give up smoking at least one month before their surgery. The carcinogens in cigarettes actually stops the flow of oxygen to the skin, which can cause irreparable damage during the healing process, including skin death. You should also avoid alcohol and stimulants for at least a week before your surgery.
After the facelift patients should continue to cease smoking for at least a month. They should also avoid strenuous exercise, prolonged sun exposure, exfoliants and any other skin irritants.
How long is the recovery period after a facelift?
Facelift patients can typically resume their day-to-day activities in as little as 5 to 10 days after their actual surgery. However, since the swelling and bruising that occurs after such an extensive surgery doesn’t recede for about 21 to 56 days, most patients are somewhat reclusive until at least the 28-day mark.
Will a facelift fix my whole face?
Usually, a facelift will do little for your neck, brows or eye area – all regions that can give away a person’s age in moments. Many patients opt to supplement a facelift with injectable drugs like Botox, Juvederm, Artefill or Collagen while others look to complimentary procedures like brow lifts, eye lifts or even neck lifts.
Will a rhytidectomy, or facelift last forever?
Facelift or not, the aging process will continue. The typical life span is about ten years for a quality, Manhattan facelift Once a facelift has ceased to be effective, many patients opt for a second lift, which is referred to as a secondary procedure.
Where can I hire a Manhattan facelift plastic surgeon?
To find a certified and qualified Manhattan facelift surgeon, get a recommendation from the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, where you can search through their member database right on the website.

A varsity soccer player heads the ball into the goal to put his team ahead by one. With more than 20 minutes to play, players on the team that is behind start to hang their heads. Their body language, slumped shoulders, a slow walk, and frustrated, angry expressions convey their temporary lack of resiliency. The speed with which they can bounce back from this setback holds the key to their success. Do they give in to their disappointment, let it turn to resignation, and ever-so-slightly decrease their efforts? Or do they use their anger to stoke the fires of competition and redouble their efforts to score and tie the game?
Psychology is beginning to unravel some of the mysteries around sports performance in general and around soccer in particular. This article discusses three recent findings in sports psychology and how they can be best applied to soccer.
Focus On Playing to Potential, Not Winning
For instance, players who make predictions about who will win the upcoming game enjoy the game less than those who do not. By predicting the outcome of the game, it creates the possibility of being incorrect and thus leads to the anticipation of regret. This anticipation of being wrong puts more pressure on the player to perform. As we know, too much pressure can push a player out of the zone (where performance is maximized) and into a subpar performance.
A better approach is that of nonattachment where players do not get overly attached to the idea of winning or losing. Soccer players can control one thing – their own play. By focusing the team on playing to their best individual and team potential, and decreasing focus on winning, the team plays more relaxed, more effective soccer.
Understand Your Players for Better Penalty Kicks
Another finding shows that some individuals look for potential gains in general and on the soccer field. Other people spend their efforts attempting to thwart negative outcomes. So one group looks to maximize gains, while the other group looks to minimize losses. Soccer coaches can identify this tendency in individual players and use it to fulfill their players’ potential. For example, when preparing players for penalty shootouts, coaches can talk to players who look to maximize gains (usually the forwards and some midfielders) and tell them to focus on scoring. On the other hand, coaches can prep those who seek to minimize losses (usually the fullbacks) by telling them to focus on not missing the shot. These are individualized messages that can run through the shooter’s head while preparing to take the PK which will increase the probability of success during the shootout.
Use Mirror Neurons to Your Advantage
Finally, soccer players become better simply by watching world class players. There is a ‘mirror system’ in the human brain which responds to actions we watch, such as Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a goal with a heel kick or performing a scissor move. This system in the brain has been shown in brain scan studies to activate when the individual is viewing a sport or activity in which they participate. However, the mirror system does not activate for a dancer watching a soccer player. The mirror system only activates for individuals who have been trained in the particular sport being viewed. We have known for over 50 years that visualization is helpful in improving sports performance (beginning with slalom skiing back in the 1950’s). Science is just discovering that the brain also learns by observing experts. Although no muscle movement takes place in the observer, the brain acts as if the body is replicating the movements being made while watching Ronaldo. The same pattern of neurons fire when watching Ronaldo perform a bicycle kick as when the player him- or herself does a bicycle kick. The possibility exists that players can hone their skills during injuries by watching professional soccer games, highlights on YouTube of favorite players and attending live games.
There are a number of things that psychology can add to sport in general and soccer in particular. Try incorporating some of these suggestions in your play or coaching and see what results come. Above all, have fun. Soccer is first and foremost a game!

Rhinoplasty refers to any surgery which aims to reshape the nose either for cosmetic or functional reasons. Some people chose to have a rhinoplasty because they cannot breathe through the nose (functional rhinoplasty) or to improve the look of the nose (cosmetic rhinoplasty). In either case, the approaches to rhinoplasty are generally the same. Two approaches can be used – either an internal approach or an external approach. The difference is that the external approach leaves a small scar on the tip of the nose, usually imperceptible when healed. The external approach allows greater access to the structural support of the nose and allows for greater ability to define nasal features. Some techniques require the open approach to the nose while other can be accomplished through a closed approach.
When considering functional rhinoplasty, several areas of the nose should be addressed. The opening of the nose, called the external valve, the middle part of the inside of the nose, called the septum, the structures on the outside wall of the inside of the nose, called turbinates, and the internal nasal valve. Care should also be taken to evaluate the back of the nose and the adenoids as these can be enlarged and contributing to difficulty breathing through the nose. Failure to evaluate the adenoids, in certain circumstances, can mean missing more ominous medical problems such as cancer. Each one of these areas can contribute to difficulty breathing through the nose and may need to be addressed separately or together to get the best possible results.
When considering a cosmetic rhinoplasty, function must be maintained. It would be imprudent to get a cosmetically perfect nose if you can’t breathe through it. Cosmetic changes should bring aesthetic improvement to the nose without causing a functional problem.
When considering rhinoplasty surgery, at times the surgeon will need to obtain either bone or cartilage to alter the supporting structure of the nose. This bone or cartilage, often referred to as grafts, can be obtained from the skull, ear, ribs, or even the nose itself. While most surgeries can be planned knowing that additional structural material is needed, sometimes physicians must make decisions during the operation to obtain additional supporting material.
As always, it is imperative to visit with a trained and experienced rhinoplasty surgeon when considering rhinoplasty surgery. Risks of the procedure vary depending on the approach used, medical health of the patient, medications used by the patient, and additional graft material which must be used. As always, your surgeon should sit down and learn your expectations, convey their experience and expected results, and go over all risks and benefits to the procedure before undertaking surgery.
